My connections

Ioana Marian

Medical Statistician

I collaborate with researchers on trauma and rehabilitation trials as part of the Centre for Statistics in Medicine (CSM) and Oxford Clinical Research Trials Unit (OCTRU). I am the trial statistician for the BOOST, UKSTAR and GRASP clinical trials and for HOPE-E, an early-phase feasibility drug study. I am also involved in the OPAL cohort study, helping to develop a prognostic tool for mobility in the elderly.

In my previous role at the University of Southampton, I contributed to the data management, analysis and reporting of PDSAFE, a multi-centre randomised controlled trial aiming to reduce falls in people with Parkinson’s disease.

I completed an MSc in Statistics at the University of Kent in 2015. My research project focused on modelling the spread of an infectious disease and vaccination efficacy using stochastic epidemic modelling. I have experience teaching statistics for business at higher education level and enjoy multi-disciplinary work.

I joined CSM and OCTRU in December 2017.
