47 world leading UK researchers have been elected to the prestigious Fellowship of the Academy of Medical Sciences for 2016 from 356 candidates. 8 of the 47 elected are from the University of Oxford, and 2 are from OCTRU.

The Fellows have been elected for their contribution to medical research and healthcare, the generation of new knowledge in medical sciences and its translation into benefits to society. 

Both Professor Sallie Lamb, one of the OCTRU Co-Directors, and Professor Timonthy Maughan, strategic lead for Oncology in OCTRU have been elected as Fellows of the Academy of Medical Sciences and will be formally admitted at a ceremony at the end of June.
