Bristol and Oxford Surgical Trials intervention Course (BOSTiC)

Hosted by Bristol and Oxford Surgical Trials Centres (SITU & BrSTC)

Research in surgery is challenging and requires multi-disciplinary collaboration with methodologists and clinicians to design and conduct high quality studies. The overall aim of our training programme is to inspire surgical trainees to learn and practice high quality research that will be relevant to surgical care of patients in the NHS.

The Bristol and Oxford Surgical Trials Units will be running a three day surgical research training event (BOSTiC) for surgical trainees in Spring 2017 (Wed 17th- Fri 19th May inclusive) at Wolfson College, Oxford.

This course is designed for surgical trainees from all specialities who wish to learn about trial methodologies and want to incorporate these learnings into their clinical practice.

The programme consists of three consecutive research training days and provides the opportunity for trainees to learn how to evaluate surgical interventions using rigorously designed and well conducted clinical studies.
